Mr and Mrs W. Henderson, of Whakatane, have received notification from their son Air Gunner Sgt. F. M. Henderson, to the effect that he lias been promoted to the rank of Flight Sergeant as from October last. At the County Council meeting last Tuesday leave of absence was granted Cr L. Lux ton, and the clerk was requested to> convey the council's hope that he make a speedy and complete recovery. Mr E. R. Wilkinson, Mayor of Tauranga, who is E.P.S. Controller for the Bay of Plenty, has accepted an, invitation to be present on Saturday (to-morrow) for the complete E.P.S. test, when the whole of the personnel (300 persons), will swing intoi operation. !
