MAORI ROADS
COUNTY ALLOCATION MADE "These Maoris, are noAV paying their rates," said the county chairman, Mr J. L. Burnett, at the council meeting yesterday. "It is therefore proposed to earmark some of the £49,000 loan for Native roads." The folloAving resolution from the Finance! Committee was therefore approved: That balances be allocated for expenditure on Native roads amounting to approximately £540.
