O GATHERING AT EDGECUMBE The May meeting of the curabe Women's Institute was held on Tuesday 19th, Mrs Hodson presided and. there was an excellent attendance. The report of the Bay of Plenty executive was read and adopted. In the absence of Mrs Burgess, Mrs Spiers acted as secretary. Methods of raising funds for Dominion Conference pool were discussed and after some discussion a silver collection Avas agreed upon. A wall competition was won by Mrs Cole. The roll call "How I Re- i.T lax" resulted in a cosy chair and a good book being the most popular relaxation.. Mrs Jesperson■■■delighted l the meetIng with two songs "Danny Boy" and "Jock o' Hazeldene." The competitions were Avon as folloavs: Lemon honey, Miss; Pepperell 1; Mrs Snelling 2. Article from old felt hat, Mrs List 1 (knitting bag); Mrs Bell 2 (child's slippers). Best flower, Mrs Pepperell 1; Mrs Le Lievre and Mrs Cole equal 2. A dainty afternoon tea Avas served by Mrs Jesperson, Mrs Pepperell and Miss Pepperell the hostesses for the afternoon. The National Anthem was sung at the conclusion.
