-» —♦ Friends of Mr A. J. Canning will be glad to learn that he is now convalescing at home and expects to be back at work within a fortnight. Mr G. W. Good, of Whakatane, was a candidate at the recent exaw*r ination of the Incorporated Assod&v tion of Cost Accountants ancl irSpfrN been admitted as an associate. v " Misses N. Righton and Harris, both of Whakatane, have received notification of their selection for service with the R.N-.Z.R.F. and their possible posting to Tauranga in the near future. Mr D. C. Webster, Supervisor atthe Te Puke Post Office, lias received notice of his promotion to the position of Postmaster at Ohaeawai, North Auckland. Mr Webster hasbeen attached to the Post Office staff for the past 14 years. Mr G. B. Hubbard, the recentlyappointed headmaster of the Whafca—.,; tane School, will commence his duties to-morrow with the opening of the neAv term. Mr Hubbard who was headmaster of the Otorohanga District High School, is an M.A. an& holds several other degrees.
