FIRST 'AWAKE' SOCIAL SUNDAY EVENING'S EVENT Thfc first social arranged by the local committee of the 'Awake New Zealand Campaign' takes place in the Caledonian: Hall, King Street, on Sunday evening. The commencing time will 1 be 8.30 p.m. and! it is hoped to provide a programme of interesting items and addresses which will be of value to all who attend. The programmes which have already been printed will be on sale in the town to-day at 6di each and the public are asked to be generous by at least this small gesture. Items will be 1 provided by Mrs E. Armstrong, Mrs Larmer, Dr Fletcher Cole, andl Mr H. Hauesler— Talks will be given by Mr L. Buddie for the Campaign, members of the Home Gaurd 1 Command!s land other commentators. Periods of community singing and the reading of extracts of letters from the boys now serving overseas will intervene. This movement demand's your support, your attention and your active patronage.
