The BBC overseas microphone re- , centvy visited St. Christopher's Nursing Training College, Tunbridge Wells for a programme in the sequence 'Something Going on in Britain Now" Mrs Mari of Dewhurst, of Mountevideo, Uruguay, S. America, and some of her friends have made a most generous response as her letter, printed below, reveals:— T have now received letters from Miss Payne of St. Christopher's College, Tunbridge Wells, telling us ages of the children and woollen garments required. Luckily wc are in a sheep-growing country, and can help in this work. 'Though our Knitting Circle has only eight ladies, we are very enthusiastic, and get through quite an amount of work. When short of funds, wet get up a tea and sale here in my home, and it is surprising the amount we can raise by this simple and agreeable entertainment, after which we buy more materials and oil' we go again. And all because I listened to your broadcast! ■lie the. broadcast, I was mueh amused at the little boy who came to the "mike" to tell us his mother had won a medal, and to hear the wee babies crying. Were you not rather bewildered? We heard the broadcast well, and hope we shall have another. 'Two of my boys are over here. We are lucky to be in such a democratic country.
