LADIES' GOLF

WHAKATANE CLUB ANNUAL MEETING HELD The annual general meeting of the Whakatane Ladies' Golf Club was held at the Clubhouse on April 18, when there was a good attendance of members. Mrs Steel presided. After the minutes of the previous annual general meeting had been read and confirmed, the annual report covering the past season's activities was presented. The membership including junior, limited and honorai"3 r members was 67. The treasurer's report read by Mrs Otley showed a credit balance. The election of officers resulted as follows: — President: Mrs Steel., Captain: Mrs Bullard. Vice-Captain: Mrs Winstone. Secretary: Mrs Spence. Committee: Mrs Otley, Mrs Luxton, Miss Black, Mrs Berg, Mrs Dewar, Mil's Sloane, Mrs Eggers, Miss Tait. In view of the existing war conditions, and the difficulties of transport at the present time, it was decided to change the Ladies' Match Day from Wednesday to Saturday. This met with the approval of all members. Votes of thanks were then moved to the retiring president, the retiring club captain, to the 'Beacon' and to the chair. These were carried unanimously, and there being no further business to discuss the meeting was then closed.
