"KEEP BALL ROLLING"

F.A. VIEWPOINT Agreement with the English policy that sport acted as a lubricant to the war machine and was not a clog was expressed by Mr J. Meltzcr at the annual meeting of the Wellington Football Association last week. He said he believed that winter .sport, played under proper control, would serve the useful purpose of maintaining public morale, and on his suggestion the meeting gave full power and discretion to the incoming management committee, to be used in its conduct of the affairs of the association in the coming season. Mr Meltzcr said that he did not think the association need apologise for carrying on with the game, Ministerial statements and public opinion supported that policy. Mr J. J. Roberts, the president of the association, said i.t was the duty of the association and its supporters to keep the ball rolling.
