GREATER SUPPORT NEEDED a public asset The annual general meeting of members of the Whakatane Public Library was held ill the Library on "Wednesday, April ], at 8 p.m. The following officers were elected for the new year:—President: Dr E. T. Dawson. Hon. Secretary: Mr C. W. Good. Hon. Treasurer: Mr .1. Partridge. Committee: Mesdames A. "W. Winstone. G. Wallace, A. W. F. Cole, J. W. Wilson. During the meeting suggestions for increasing membership and interest in the Public were discussed. The president pointed out that the Library belonged to the citizens of the town, and it was only by giving their full support that the Library could hope to progress. More subscribers meant better service and Avidcr selection of reading. It was the policy of the committee to cater for all classes of reading public, and it is hoped that more support will be forthcoming during the coming year.
