£250,000 EXTRA NEEDED
INCIIE ASI NG RESPONSIBILITIES
In a letter to the secretary of the Whakatane Patriotic InterZone Committee, the secretary of the Dominion Fund' Board, has/ advised that owing to the expanding responsibilities of the Board's undertakings it has been: found necessary to include in the year's allocation an additional amount of £250,000. The increasing number of men untie- training both in the Dominion and beyond, together with the fifiOO prisoners of \var, have made' the original estimate far , short of what is actually required. The total additional amount required, -will mean an extra quota for each Provincial Patriotic Council as under-: Auckland £79,137; East Co>ast £f)175; Hawke's Bay £14.000: Tarannki £11,102; Wellington £55,000; Marlborough £3502; Nelson £5750; West land £3450; Canterbury £38,337; Otago £22,175; Southland £11,000.
