GARDEN PARTY

PLUNKET SOCIETY BENEFITS The local branch of the Plunket Society held a most successful Garden Party on Thursday last at the residence of Mrs F. Prideaux, Douglas Street. The funds of the Society benefited considerably. During the afternoon opportunity was taken to present the late pre- 1 sident, Mrs C. C. Sou they, with a token of 'appreciation and goodwill, for her services to the Society. The Mayoress, Mrs Barry, made the presentation. Games and competitions were well supported and afternoon tea was served by members of the committee. The committee desires to express its thanks to Mrs Prideaux for lier action in making her residence available, and also all those people who in any way contributed to the success of the afternoon. The following.is a list of the winners of the competitions:— Cake, Master Raepior. Sweets, Mrs Rowan. Dinner, Mrs T. Dawson. Baby Set, Mrs Austin. Clock Golf, Mrs Williams. Taipo, Mrs Drube. Lucky Spot Mrs Wright. Lucky Baby, Monica Litchwark. Quoits, Mrs Darvill. The stall was in charge of Mrs Runciman and Mrs Zinsli.
