THE conclusion of the very successful 'Scout Week' . in Whakatane was an illustration to many, who previously had failed to realise it, what the essence of the Scouting Movement was. Saturday's 'Good Deed' act; was carried out as a civic gesture to indicate the principle Scout law, while the Service of Dedication on the Sunday was intended to exemplify the moral standard and citizenship, which figure so prominently in the: Wining. It is to be hoped that the effort will reap its own reward in the number of new Scouts and Cubs who will be enrolled during the next few weeks.
