SERVICE REINSTATED
TAURANGA-WHAKATANE BUS
PREVIOUS ACTION COUNTER-
MANDED
Word was received yesterday morning that the bus and passenger service, known as LoveH's, which served tlie districts between Whakatane nnd Tauranga was reinstated by order of the chairman of the No. 1 Licensing Authority, Auckland.
Two and a half weeks ago this service was cancelled in accordance with the decision of the Government to do away with all road services which existed in districts which were also served by. rail. The question however was one which was largely dictated by the conditions peculiar to the district, and as a great deal of hardship ensued, no time was lost in petitioning the authorities. The Member for the district, Mr W. Sullivan, figured in carrying the representation to the Government, and as a result the service is now fully restored and will recommence its old activities almost immediately.
