PETROL EXPLOSION

MAN RECEIVES BURNS FIRE BRIGADE CALLED At about 7 p.m. on Wednesday the Fire Brigade received a call to King Street to the residence of Mr Rush, cartage contractor, where fire had followed a petrol explosion. The brigade's scervices were not required the flames having been extinguished. Mr Rush, however, had received injuries which necessitated his removal to the local hospital. The victim of the accident had, it appeared, been transferring benzine from cme drum to another when the explosion occurred and lire followed. His clothes were ignited and he received burns to the right leg, right arm, hands and face. XJis general condition is reported to be fairly satisfactory.
