RECORD PRICES
PEDIGREE DAIRY CATTLE NEW ZEALAND PURCHASE INi SCOTLAND Tremendous prices are being realised in England and Scotland for pedigree dairy cattle. Several four figure prices have been paid for both Ayrshires and Friesians in recent months. New Zealand participated in the world's record sale of Ayrshires held at Lessnessock, Scotland, when a grand looking richly bred yearling bull was purchased by Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd., on behalf of the well known Wairarapa breeder, Mr J. G. Donald, Ardgowan, Tauherenikau. The bull in question, Lessnessock Twinkle, is by the great young sire, Harleyholm Radiance, whose sons made record prices last 3 T ear in Scotland. The top price at this year's Lessnessock sale was the world's record one of 1900 guineas, Avhile another yearling bull made 1000 guineas. Incalf heifers made up to 360 guineas and 520 guineas, and 52 head of yearling bulls and in-calf heifers made the remarkable average of £248 19s. At the present time Mr J. G. Donald, has in use iii his herd two bulls imported from Scotland and his new purchase will rank as the fourth importation he has made from Scotland.
