ERADICATION WORK IN COUNTY
CUTTING INSTEAD OF POISON
Tlic following report on ragwort eradication was submitted by the acting-engineer at yesterday's meeting of the County Council:-
Since last report ragwort on the Paroa area extending from Eastern Boundary Road to Ferguson's Road and all lands between Eastern Boundary Road and Huna Roacl has; been cut, also on lands between Marshall's and Freezing Works Roads. Properties adjoining the Edge-cumbe-Te Teko, Maori, Powell's and East Bank South Reads, also unindividualised native and crown lands behind Pukaahu Domain, at Braemar and on the Waiohau Road have been completed. A small gang is now employed cutting along the banks of the Wai.mana River towards Matahi. A start is being made this Aveek to cover some areas for the s~econd time. Man hours to date number 8647 and acreage cleared 5219.
