PUBLIC SERVICE RECRUITS

PAYMENT OF TUITION FEES

The secretary of the local St., John Ambulance has received the following advice from the Director of National Service: —

'T am pleased to inform you that for the purpose of providing firstaid emergency personnel for public buildings the Government has agreed to pajr a tuition fee of 5s for each member of the Public Service who |oins the E.P.S. and sits for and passes the St. John Ambulance firstaid course. All Government departments are being, informed accoidingly and I should be pleased if you would convey the information to all district officers! of your organisation. "Departmental controlling officers throughout the Service will be asked to supply to your district representatives the names of all officers ;vho so enrol and your district representatives will forward periodically to your headquarters certified returns showing the names of successful candidates and the departments to which they are attached. Your headquarters will then submit its claims to this department on the basis of 5s in respect of each public servant to whom a certificate has been issued; such claims to be supported by the certified lists referred to."
