TIME TO VOTE
OBLIGATION OF EMPLOYERS SATURDAY'S POLL In respect to the by-election to be held on Saturday next, the following information may be of interest to readers who are occupiers of factories and shops. Factory occupiers are required to give their employees reasonable time to record their votes but not exceeding one working hour, without deduction from wages. At Saturday is the usual hall holiday the position is not affected in respect to the shops that usually close on Saturday. Regarding shops that are not required to observe a Saturday closing day, viz., fishmongers, fruiterers, confectioners, florists, dairy produce sellers, bakers, etc.. the asistants therein must be given their half holiday on polling day and not on any other day as is usually the case.
