THE PIPE BAND

ANNUAL MEETING HELD

STRENUOUS YEAR COMPLETED

Chief W. J. Simons of the, Whakatane Caledonian Society presided at the annual meeting of the Pipe Band last Monday evening and complimented the members on the very strenuous year they had completed. The outlook though not encouraging at present would however fmd the band still ready and willing to play its part in the life of the community. The election of officers resulted: Pipe Sergt, D. Paterson; Pipe Cpl, W. Howat; Pipe L/Cpl, A. Donaldson; Drum Sgt, T. Eagleson; Drum Cpl, S. Good-rick; Band Secretary, W. Howat; Custodian, D. Paterson. The appointment of Drum-major and Pipe-major will take place at the annual meeting whidi will be held in the King Street Hall on Monday next.
