Delves may probably be viewed by many as a bit of bad' luck. In any event it is not a wise; choice 1 , particularly when on® has no driving licence, as! a defendant learned at Tuesday's Court. Ena Lillian Stevenson received a "ticket" for that little episode and was fined 5s with 10s costs for driving without a licence and £1 and 10s for driving without due care and attention. Also' amongst the missing when the Inspector located the car was a warrant of fitness, so the owner Helen Mary Dick was asked to pay a fine of 10s with costs 12s.
Horses at Large For allowing one horse to wander on the State Highway, Petera Wharepapa was fined £1 and costs 1/s. Thomas Whitely was also charged, the Inspector on this occasion having to round up six horses. For the latter defendant Mr G. Otley ex pi alined that an employee had failed to shut a gate while the owner was on another part of the farm. The fine was similar. Other Gffencesl Having no warrant for his car cost Hiakita Hori a 10s fine and 12s costs. Maurice Pryor pleaded guilty to riding a cycle without a light on a recent Friday evening and was penalised 5s with costs 12s. A taxi driver, Robert Jessop, was caught speeding in Commerce Street, Inspector Delves stating that for part of the way he was doing 45 m.p.h. This cost the driver £2 and costs 12s.
