The civil list at yesterday's siU ting of the Whakatane Magistrate's Couirt was very brief, the following being the only cases Mr E. L. Walton, S.M., was called upon to deal

with:—

Judgment by default Avas awarded the plaintiff in the cases CI. I. Pllank v Sam Meihana, claim £4 10s costs £1 10s Gd, and the Borough Council v R. Walker, claim £6 18s, costs £1.

F. Hunia w 7 as ordered to pay Wheeler's Garage £15 7s in default 15 days' gaol.

Ballans Foods Ltd v J. W. Bell. The defendant was ordered to pay £30 Is 9d in default 30 days* Imprisonment, warrant to be suspended so long as the debtor pays £3 per month.

Colin Ross was ordered to pay Geo. R. McCauley £5 10s 3cl in default a day's gaol.

Wheeler's Garage claimed £30 from Takawai Edwards who was ordered to pay the amount owing, in default 30 clays in gaol.
