CRICKET SEASON OPENS

COMPETITION FIXTURE

At the Domain the cricket season opened with Paroa defeating P. and T. in a low scoring match. Batsmen, with little practice yet enjoyed, were not seeing them too well and bowlers were definitely on top. Going to the wickets firslt; Paroa compiled 90, Re ill being top scorer with 29> Goile (14) and A. Coutts (11) being the only other double figure scorers. Rigden bowled well, in 8 overs bagging 5 wickets for* 23, while in five overs Rivett took 3 for 14. G'hard delivered an economical seven overs only 14 being scored off him while he accounted for 2 wickets. P. ami T. opened badly and failed to make a stand Wells proving difficult to play.
