Accident With Saw. Mr Taw hi Tu received severe lacerations to the last three fingers of his right hand, when operating s circular saw this week. The remit was approved. Home' Guard Promotions. Appointments as battalion com. mantlers in the Home Guard in the Northern Military District have been confirmed by the Army Department. The commanders, who each carry the rank of temporary major, are as follows: Group No. 2A—Majors W. L. Fulljames (Taupo), S. N. Chatfield (Opotiki), J. Mitchell (Tauranga), R. G. Anderson (Galatea), G. F. Pott (Rotorua), F. Cook (Te Puke), I. B. Gow (Rangitaiki), C. R. Wilson (Whakatane).
