SATISFACTORY AVERAGE PRICES
The South Bay of Plenty Cattle Breeders' Club held its annual Bull Sale on Thursday, September 25, at the A. and P. Showgrounds, Whakatane. There was a large attendance of buyers from the Opotiki. Whakatane and Tc Puke districts and a very satisfactory sale resulted with an average for 116 bulls sold of 39 guineas.
The auctioneers in conjunction were Wright, Stephenson and Co.. Ltd. (with Messrs J. McCaw and H. P. Toose in the rostrum) and New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. (with Messrs J. Tannei and A. Horne in the rostrum).
The top price of 60 guineas was reached on two occasions. Lot 23. A two year old "Greenwell Finan* cier" offered an account of Messrs S. G. and E. L. Looney, Waiotahi, and purchased by W. L. Winters, Otakiri. Lot 40. A yearling offered on account of Mr T'. W. Wardlaw, Waimana, and purchased by Mr OldIng for the Awaroa Station, Edge*, cumbe.
