THE BLACK-OUT
OPOTIKI RESIDENTS WARNED
As a result of Borough residents failing to comply with the black-out restrictions, and a resultant slackening in the blaclt-out observance, more severe measures are being adopted at Opotiki. Accompanied by a police constable two wardens recently visited part of the boroiugh and issued about 20 final warnings to householders. Further inspections are to be; made, and in every case in which blinds are not drawn over the windows and the means used to exclude light are not considered adequate, prosecutions will follow.
A distinct slackening in the observance 1 of the regulations has also been noticed in the business area, and this will be dealt with at a
meeting of officials and wardens to be held at an early date.
