DRUNKEN DRIVER
RUATOKI MAORI CHARGED SEQUEL TO ACCIDENT When Mana Miika, a Maori of Ruatoki was returning home from Wliakatane on Monday last, his car collided with the overhead bridge near T'aneatua and came to a full stop. Constable Rice who visited the scene of the accident deemed it advisable in view of the driver's condition to escort him to the local lock-up and as a result he appeared the following day in the Police Court before Messrs Moody and Hayward, J.P's.
The stofy was duly related to the court and the defendant who pleaded guilty was fined £10 and costs, and ordered to have his license cancelled for one year.
