FLOUR STOCKED IN DISTRICT
.ARRANGEMENTS OF COMMITTEE
At the meeting of the Whakataue Emergency Precautions Committee held on Wednesday, the deputycontroller, Mr C. G. Lucas, reported that he had interviewed Mr Wish Wheat and Flour Controller, Auckland, with the result that 75 tons of flour are now stored in Whakatane and when sufficient accommodation is available, Mr Wish had promised to increase the storage to .150 tons. Normally the district uses 53 tons of flour per months of which 24 tons Is imported by rail and 29 tons, by boat. Under the existing arrangement all baliers flour for the district comprising Taneatua, Matata, Te Teko and Edgecumbe, is now drawn from Whakatane, Brabant delivering same direct to the Vakers. The store has been inspect»eii recently and it appeared satisfactory in every way.
