MANAWAHE EVENT

SPINSTERS AND BENEDICTS BALL ATTRACTS LARGE CROWD * The Spinsters and Benedicts held a very successful Ball in the Manawahe Hall on Thursday, August 14. The duties of M.C. were shared between Miss M. Logan and Mr R. Habgood. The . music was supplied by the Gaiety Boys and was greatly enjoyed.

Winners of the Monte Carlo were Miss Joyce and Mr G. Logan, while the Spot Waltz was won by Miss D. Eivers and Mr B. Kane. Euchre was also played and the winners proved to be Mrs Mikkelsen and Mr R. McLachlan. Consolation prizes went to Mrs Kennon and Mr Denham. A cake which was raffled during the evening was won by Mrs L. Rendall.

Among those present were Mesdames Rkldell (navy georgette); Habgopd (cyclamen taffeta); Mikkelsen (nav3' spot silk); Theozald (pink organdie); Eivers (black wool georgette); Potter (floral satin); Kennon navy ci - epe de chine); King (pink wool afghaline); Rimmer (floral silk); Hartley (navy silk); J.
