In liis report to the annual meeting of the Whakatane <©oy Seoul and Cub Citizen's Committee, the chairman said he desired to record the fine work done by a number of Scouts in assisting the wives and defendants of men who were now serving overseas. A certain group had faithfully carried out this work b.v regularly doing odd jobs, mowing lawns, chopping wood, etc., which he felt was the real interpretation of the Scout code. The committee would have liked to have seen more boys doing this sort of thing, lie said and recommended the incoming committee that this be encouraged. The boys had also given their services gratus as messengers at the rccent Military Gymkhana and at the Winter Show.
