MRS JANE PATTERSON Another link in. the fast-c- 1 '" } "tying band of early stet' en on Tuesday las;t, r- % Patterson passed away pe£c <$/, l:er home, Opotiki. ; Born in County Antrim, S5 years ago, Mrs Patterson married at the age of 24 and settled on a farm in County Kilroughts* Hearting of better opportunities prevailing in New Zealand from her brothers and sisters who had already settled in Opotiki, Mr and Mrs Patterson and their three young children came out over 50! years ago-and made their first home on the Tablelands., Opotiki. Mr Patterson died six years later, being survived by his widow and five children. With undaunted courage, Mrs Patterson faced the difficult years ahead and had the satisfaction of winning through. To those who came in contact with her., she will long be remembered for her charming personality. Her family comprise Mrs N. E. Nilsen (Auckland), Miss Patterson, Messrs S. and W. A. Patterson (Opotiki), and. Mrs F. R. Pitcher (Gisborne); also six grandchildren.
