POWER RESTRICTIONS
Sir, —r was amazed to read in a re-» cent issue of your paper that our local Hospital Board was consider* j ing the installation of all-electrie cooking appliances at the hospital. Have they not heard of our present much advertised shortage of electric ■ power, that they would discuss add* ing substantially; to the' present total load. The inconveniencei caused in the average all-electric home, during our occasional Sunday after- ■ noon shut down of power, multiplied one hundred fold inlbV event of any emergency causing a few hours power failure to tlie hospital. To my mind, a modern, heat storage type cooker of appropriate, ' capacity, with its regulated heat ; available for 24 hours every dajr, would be a much more suitable installation. Yours etc., CGMMONSENSE.
