FAREWELL AFTERNOON
MRS AND MISS BELL HONOURED WAIMANA EVENT A pleasant afternoon was spent at the home of Mrs John Addison last Wednesday when the members ol the Glee Club of the Women's Institute met to bid farewell to the club's leader, Mrs E. A. Bell and her daughter. Two competitions arranged by Mrs F. Savage and Mrs T. Wardlaw', were won by Mrs King and Mrs Clark. Community * singing and social half hour and afternoon tea followed. Mrs F. Savage then presented the guests with gifts from all members in appreciation of their great help to the Glee Club, especially Mrs Bell, and also presented Mrs Bell with a posy of jonquils and violets and a shoulder spray of violets and heather to Miss Bell from Mrs Eagle. Mrs Savage said it wa° with great regret that the club was farewelling the guests of honour, as they would be greatly missed by all. Mrs Bell most suitably responded, thanking all and hoped the Glee Club would carrj' on and always come in on the beat. Auld Lang Svne and the National Anthem concluded a pleasant afternoon.
