VIOLENT COLLISION

BUS AND LORRY INVOLVED On Saturday night an accident occurred on the main highway near Mr L. W .Luxton's I'a -in which luckily did not result in any personal injury being sustained although the vehicles were extensively damaged. One of the Matata Bus Company's motors and a truck owned bv Mr R. Meredith were involved. The bus was returning to Whukatane from Edgecumbe after delivering picture passengers and was driven by Mr K. Burnett, who was the only occupant, while the lorry which was proceeding in the opposite direction contained five people. The driver's side of the bus was extensively damaged, the< truck not faring so badly.
