EXPORT KILLINGS INCREASE IN LAMBS The official figures of export kill ings at tha Dominion's freezing works from Ist October, 1911 till 14tli June, 1941 as issued by the New Zealand Meat Producers Board show that lamb killings have reach ed a total of 10,975,535 or 751,220 carcases above that of the; previous season. Ewe killings now show a decrease of 376,411 carcases compared with the previous season, the* current total being 1,516,070. Wethers have declined by 691,107, the killing;; tli is season totalling 603,382. Dctails of lamb and mutton produc tion to June 14, with the corresponding figures for the previous season (to June 15) in parentheses are a" follows:— North Island. Wether mutton C'/cs 508,967 (1,122,193) Ewe mutton C/cs 862,12.8 (1,205,944) Lamb C/cs 5,683,400 C5.244.834j South Island. Wether mutton C'/cs 94,415 (172,296) Ewe mutton C/cs 653,942 (686,537) Lamb C/cs 5,292,126 (4,979,475) Froezn beef production has reached 606,858 quarters compared with 598,959. Porker killings (204.516 in the North Island, and 7,454 in the South) total 212,000, showing an increase of 120,651 carcases. Baconer killings were as follows: North Island 287/195 (compared with 313,539); South Inland 9215 (11,797) n decrease thisi season of 28,626 carcases. Killings of choppers total 10.223 being a decrease of 1022. Killings in other classes of meat expressed in 601b freight carcases weore as follows, with the figures for the previous season to approximatc'v the same date, shown in parentheses:— Boneless beef 627,243 (751,996) Boneless bobby veal 86,509 ( 68,016) Sundries 398,452 (421,224)
