EFFECT OF VOTING STRENGTH The Auckland Executive of the Farmers' Union has been asked ay the Waikato branch to ascertain the views of County Councils upon the effect of State tenants in tliet country being given the same voting rights as rural ratepaj*ers. One or two members cited substiuitia! numbers of State houses having been erected in their areas, and Captain Ruslrvvorth remarked: "It hasn't stopped, either. You may have to envisage a time in the future wh?n most of the farmers will be State tenants." The Waikato request we « agreed to.
