WHAKATANE CLUB The qualifying round for the Fortune and Founders Cups will be played next Saturday and Sunday. Play will be over 18 holes on handicap and first 8 will qualify for the Fortune Cup and the second 8 for the Founders Cup., Draw is as folloavs: —■ Hyland plays Milne; Morpeth plays Steel; Powdrell plays Spence; Lnxton plays R. Morpeth; Rangi. plays Carter; Suckling plays Reynolds; Allan plays Billiard; Andersen plays Boon; Herrold plays L. B. Smith; Berg plays. S. Armstrong; Campbell plays Moore; Sloanc plays Butler; Wright plays Standrin; Mollgaard plays Littlejohn; Grey plays H. Armstrong: Symc plays Haynes; Corbet plays Winstone; Brown plays J. Wilson. In view of the difficulty some members have of playing on Saturday owing to Home Guard training, the committee are allowing members to choose either Saturday or Sunday to play their round. It is hoped that members whose sections are not finalised will complete their matches by next week-end as no further time can be allowed.
