BLIND EX-SOLDIERS PROVISION FOR RELIEF The Secretary of the Whakatane Red Cross Society has received the following communication from headquarters ♦. "The National War Funds Council is considering the question of allocating a sum of money' for the relief of ex-soldiers who, since their return to the Dominion from war service, have lost their sight. Already,. as you know, provision is made in the form of a war pension for these men who lost their sight through the causes of war. It is these unfortunate men who have become blind since, for whom the War Funds Council seeks to afford some relief. "Before this can ba done, it is first necessary to know the cases. It is felt that our branches can help by making contact with such cases in their respective districts. Would you please therefore furnish the regimental number, name and address of any case you may know of.'*
The foregoing intentions of the War Funds Council are meant to cover the 1914-18 war and the present one and anyone concerned is asked to register hjs name with the secretary, Mrs D. E. Pearse.
