Mrs Harold Johnson, of Te Aroha, is visiting Whakatane and is the guest of Mr and Mlrs Wm>. Baxter, Simplcins Street. During the next week-end Knox Presbyterian Church has been privileged in obtaining the services of two distinguished church men. These two gentlemen, The Right Rev. Geo. H. McNuer and Rev. R. Morgan are at present attending the Mission Conference at Ohope, and' owing, to the illness* of Rev. H. Hogg, have kindly promised to give their services to Knox Church next Sunday* Mr McNuer taking the morning service and Mr Morgan the eye«jng. s service. It is expected that terians will take this oppormnity of hearing these two veterans of their Mission Services. Mr McNuer, who is at present on furlough, is the pioneer Missionary to China, having been in that country since the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand established its first Mission there. He has been in close contact with Miss James, who has defied all to carry on her work amongst the Chinese sick—even under war conditions. Mr McNuer should be able to relate some very interesting tale 9 of life in China under present conditions and fortunate will be those people who hear him. Mr Morgan is a retired minister, who is devoting part of his retired life to work the Maoris, and is at present stationed at Tokaanu. He too is doing a wonderful work in the Maori Mission field and anything he has to say will be worth hearing. ...
