DAMAGE AT HEADS
RESULT OF HEAVY WEATHER During the recent heavy weathei a combination of north westerly wind, spring tides and a fresh in the river was responsible for the sandy beach fronting the Centennial Park being lowered three feet. The toe of the concrete wall was exposed and endangered.
Immediate steps were taken to place sand bags at the front of the wall as a protection against the high seas and teter large stones were added. This was effective according to Mr C. H. Brebner (engineer) at Friday's meeting of the Harbour Board, but added that it would be necessary to add more stone to complete the work.
