STOCK MARKET
AUTUMN HORSE FAIR
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., reports having held its Autumn Horse Fair on March 26. There was a very small yarding compared with other years and very few draught horses were yarded. The demand however, for heavy draughts broken to shafts was keen, while the demand for broken-in hacks was particularly good. One bay draught mare broken to all farm work sold on account of Mr T. W. James realised £32, while a four year old bay gelding broken to all work, sold on account of Mr D. Allan, realised £30. Medium draughts broken to chains made from £17 to £23. Light working horses £11 to £14, hacks made from £10 15s to £14 and ponies £4 5s to £9 15s. ♦
