FAREWELL DANCE
GATHERING AT TE TEKO
LOCAL VOLUNTEERS HONOURED
On Thursday evening last, the Te Teko Hall was the scene of a sue- 4 cessful dance given by friends of sieven local boys who are leaving to enter camp witli the Fifth Reiifforeements. The hall had been transferred into a gay scene with Red, White and Blue streamers and 1 bine hydrangeas and greenery decorating •the stage and walls with a Union Jack suspended above the stage. Confetti and streamer waltzes adding a festival touch. The Gaiety Boys' orchestra gave of their best by way of a popular dance programme. A tasty home-made supper was served, for which special thanks are due Mrs Brady who supplied the cakes. After supper had been served, Mr C. F. Eivers made presentations of small gifts, and paid sincere thanks to the guests of honour are who Messrs Tom Major, Ptes Henry,, KJ. Brown, S. Goodwin, T. Morrison, E. G. Paul and H. Nioa. ' Following the presentations all joined in musical honours and the Maori Battalion song. Among those present were: Mes-
