MONTHLY MEETING HELD BRIEF REVIEW OF THE YEAR} Mr A. F. McGougan, to whom leave of absence was granted, was the only absentee when the* County Council held its .monthly meeting yesterday. In a brief review of the year, the chairman, Mr J. L. Burnett, said that although the past twelve months had proved to be quite a strenuous time and there had been many contentious matters engaging the council's attention, the council members had used team work had got along in liar-< mony. He expressed best wishes for the new year to the council and the stafT and regretted the absence of Mr C. G. Lucas, the County Clerk/ who was at present on extended leave.

The chairman"? remarks was reciprocated on behalf of the staff by Mr C. H. Brcbner, County Engineer, and by Mr W. A. ken and Mr H ; C. McCrcady on behalf of the council.
