FIFTY PER CENT. CUT
WHAKATANE'S RAILWAY STATION EXPLANATION REQUESTED Under the heading of general busi ness, the president* Mr W. Sullivan, informed the Chamber of Commerce on Thursday night that half of the Whakatane West Railway Station building had been dismantled and removed. The object was obscure as, even if the building Avere required elsewhere, the cost of dismantling, transport and re-erection would be in excess of that for a ne\V structure. It was resolved that the Chamber should communicate -with the Minister of Railwavs requesting an explanation.
