MONSTER MEETING PLANNED BOXING DAY ATTRACTION! With the aim of raising money for patriotic funds, a monster sports meeting will be staged at Ruatoki on Boxing Day, December 26, and, though its right of inclusion under the heading of. 'Sports' is doubtful, undoubtedly the main attraction for many will be the baby show—Maori facing Pakeha and may the best man win. Races of every description are scheduled, witli added events, tug-o'-war, sheep weight guessing, buried treasure, etc., etc., making for a satisfying variety and teams of ten holding the interest of Maori and Pakeha alike in an action song competition. 'The programme includes: 50yds Married Ladies; 75yds Single Ladies: Ladies' Blindfold Race; Ladies' Egg and Spoon Race; Thread the Needle, Ladies and Gents; Gent's Sack Race; 100 yds O'pen Handicap; Hop, Step and Jump; Three-Legged Race, Ladies and Gents; Putting.the Shot; Tug-o'-war, teams 6 aside; Bending Horse Competition; Flag Race; Buried Treasure; Stepping the Chain; Sheep Weight Guessing; School Boys 100 yds; School Girls' 75yds and High Jump (Open). The day will conclude with a fancv dress ball, to be held in the Anzie H ill.
