CONTROL OF OHOPE

INTERESTED PARTIES MEET COMMISSIONER OF CROWN" LANDS ATTENDS A special meeting convened by the Whakataiie County Council for the purpose of discussing the proposal to create a Domain Board which would control the 'Reserves at Ohope Beach, with the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Mr G. K. Graham, took place last Wednesday mornings Those attending were Messrs T. L. Burnett, A. F. McGougan. H. G. McCready, R. F. Wardlaw, C. T. Smith and L. W. Luxton (County representatives), F. Mahy, N. V. Greagor, H. C. Kennedy and Rev. Laughton (Ohope residents), and Messrs C. G. Lucas and G. H. Breb ncr (County officials).

The whole question of the Domain Board was fully discussed and a unanimous lesolution "carried as under: "That the Department's suggestion be adopted—that the new Ohope Domain Board personnel com prise representatives from the fol-< lowing: Whakatane County Council, Whakatane Borough Council, Lands and Survey Department and Ohope residents. That membership here in be County, Borough and Lands Department one member each, Ohope. residents six members. Mr Graham undertook to recommend the-above to the Minister o| Internal Affairs in Wellington and to forward same at once.
