WHAKATANE CATTLE. FAIR Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having, held their Spring Cattle Fair on the 27th instant, when a full yarding of station cattle were penned. The quality of the cattle yarded equalled that of last year and the condition of the cattle was better. There was a large and representative attendance of buyers from the Waikato and Bay of Plenty districts. Competition was exceedingly keen for all classes and vendors' expectations were exceeded. Realisations: Fat cows £7 to £8 15s; fat heilfers £7 15s to £8 2s; 3 year P.A. and Hereford steers £8 15s to £9 10s; 2 year steers £6 15s to £7 ss; yearling P.A. steers £5 to £5 16s; yearling P.A. heifers £3 10s to £4 Is; empty cows £o to £6. . OPOTIKI CATTLE FAIR There was a good yarding of station cattle which sold vinder keen competition at rates slightly less than at Whakatane. .There was a large and representative attendance of buyers from the Bay of Plenty district. Realisations: Fat cows £7 to £7 12s 6d; runners £4 15s; 3 P.A. steers £8 to £8 12s; 2 year Hereford steers, medium £5 10s to £5 15s; empty cows £4 15s to £5 Is; 2 year heifers £4 2s 6d.
