TWENTY LARGE CASES
CLOTHES FOR REFUGEES RESPONSE TO LADY GALWAY'S APPEAL Twenty large .packing-cases had to be used for the despatch to Wellington of the clothes collected from the residents of Whakatane and district in response to Lady Gal • way's Guild appeal for clothing for refugees. Collected by the Whakatane Men's patriotic committee, Post Office officials and many individual helpersi the clothes were taken to the Winter Show, where they were sorted and packed by ladies who devoted days to the task. In other centres the procedure was much the same and the response was equally as good, Taneatua alone contributing eight cases. The helpers and the donors will find satisfaction in the result obtained.
