A GOOD SAVE
FIRE BRIGADE ON THE JOB MONDAY EVENING CALL A good save was made by the Whakatane Volunteer Fire Brigade when it was called to Dr. F. Jv Appleby's surgery in Domain Hoac| at 9.15 on Monday evening. The cause of the outbreak is nofl known but it is thought that Kfc originated in the partition behind the chimney. It had burned through this partition and reached the . ceiling when the Brigade arrived , but was arrested at this stage. The plaster walls were cracked" - by the heat in places but the total damage has hot yet been estimated.
