ELECTRICAL MATTERS
ENGINEER'S STATEMENT NEW LINES ERECTED Reporting to the Borough Council at the monthly meeting the Borough Electrical Engineer, Mr F. W. Lysaght, stated:— Ncav Secondary Lines: A number of poles have been fitted and erected for the neAV block of Government houses under construction. A neAV line has been erected along a portion of Hinemoa Street and Landing Road to supply a range, hotwa lev cylinder and lighting installation. Heads Extension: A start has been made Avit.li this work and the job will be carried out as soon as is possible. There is certain equipment that is not yet procurable but I intend going to Auckland in connection Avitlu.th.is matter to see if suitable substitutes can be obtained. NeAV Service Lines: The folloAving neAV service lines have been erected during fche month, also a number of alterations to existing lines: One 3 phase service line in Landing Road, 1 3 phase line in MoAlister Street. NeAV Consumers: NeAV consumers connected for the month are as follows: Ranges 4, hotwater cylinders 6, motors 1 3 li.p., lighting and heating 4. Main Sub-station; Considerable maintenance Avork has been carried out at this sub-station. The building has been painted,nneA r gates fitted and a complete neAV enclosure built to replace the old one. Waterworks Department: The pumping plants have been in service every day during the month and are in fair order. Building Permits: Building permits as under AA r ere issued for the month: Garages 1, workshop 1, alterations to shop 1, new residences 1. The value of the buildings amounted to £1501.
