SEASON OPENS
FISH DELICACY FOR THE MARKETS To-day marks the opening of the whitebait season and the markets of the Auckland provincial towns will be supplied in part by the catch in the Bay of Plenty area. The catching and marketing of whitebait is no small industry for the Maoris in the. Bay althoug ( h most of it is done in the districts north of Whakatane. Reports indicate that the quantity available last year will be maintained this season.
